transformation
Goal:
In the place of innovation and transformation, we bring together people from academia, city government, the business community, and civil society to collaboratively develop new solutions to current challenges. We purposefully create spaces and formats where collaboration can flourish.
At the heart of this is the belief that innovation arises where different perspectives come together: When people bring their knowledge, experiences, and viewpoints together, new ideas emerge that would not be possible otherwise.

Place of education and opportunity
Goal:
In the place of education and opportunities, we create spaces for learning and hands-on experience where students and early-career researchers can engage with real-world issues affecting the city and the region.
Participants explore how scientific knowledge can have an impact in the city, develop their own solutions and engage with different perspectives. In this way, they acquire skills for the future, particularly at the interface between science, society and practice.
At the same time, we want to showcase Bochum as a great place to live, learn and work, offering plenty of opportunities. Our aim is to ensure that talented and bright people are happy to stay here.

BoWelcome Week for international students (in partnership with the City of Bochum)
Event and
networking venue
Goal:
At our venue for events and networking, we organise open-access programmes that make science accessible and bring it to life. Together with people from Bochum, we explore topics relating to everyday life, the city and society, and engage them in dialogue with scientific perspectives.
Our events encourage participants to contribute their thoughts, join in the discussion and share their own experiences.
This gives rise to new perspectives on current issues and fosters a dialogue that brings together academia and urban society.
