One day, six universities – a wealth of information in one place
On January 14 and 15, it was that time again: numerous students from Bochum and the surrounding area took advantage of the Bochum University Days to find out about their future prospects after school. Together with our association members and partners, we were able to provide valuable insights into the diverse university landscape of our city on these two days.

From exchanging ideas with students to experiencing future working environments
At the Bochum University Days, participants had the opportunity to find out about six Bochum universities directly on site and even receive individual advice from them. The students from Bochum were also able to find out some new information about the various subject-related opportunities at our universities. Others, on the other hand, got to know Bochum as a potential future place to study and live – and certainly fell in love with it.
In addition, visitors were able to take part in practical workshops on important topics such as dual study programs at the City of Bochum and student financing. The exchange with current Bochum students, who gave first-hand accounts of their everyday university life, was particularly exciting for many. Another highlight was provided by the Agentur für Arbeit: participants were able to immerse themselves in the virtual working worlds of the future with VR glasses and discover new career prospects.
More than just studying: Bochum as an attractive place to live
But studying isn’t everything! In order to give the students a general impression, Bochum Marketing also provided numerous tips for free-time activities in Bochum. Because one thing is certain: Bochum also has a lot to offer outside of lectures.
During the event, the participants received a stamp card with small tasks that they could complete. They received a stamp for each task they completed. Those who collected four stamps received a small gift at the end. These included socks, stickers and postcards about the „Studier mich“ campaign.

We are already looking forward to the Bochum University Days 2026!
