Speaker: Prof. Dr. Anna Mikhof (Bochum University of Applied Sciences)
How does city life affect our mental health? Health psychologist Anna Mikhof explores this question.
In her presentation, she explores why cities can be both a burden and an opportunity. She discusses the extent to which mental health challenges are on the rise in cities and the role that noise, heat, stress, and a lack of green spaces may play. How can cities be designed to promote quality of life and mental health? Drawing on the latest research and concrete examples, we’ll explore together how cities can be designed to promote the mental health of as many people as possible.
This event is part of the lecture series “Wissensrunde Utopien” (Knowledge Roundtable Utopias) organized by vhs, the city library, and UniverCity Bochum e.V. on the way to the House of Knowledge. The event will be conducted in German.
