More digitalization equals more democracy?!
Europe before the elections
Do we have to relearn democracy in a digitalized world? We will be asking these and other questions together with you on May 6th in the Rotunde! How are digital transformations already influencing democratic processes, our elections and perhaps also your decision in the upcoming European election? Come and talk to our experts on the podium!

Event information
We are increasingly leaving decisions to AI-based systems in our everyday lives – whether it’s navigating traffic, choosing music or recommending a book.
But what impact do digital technologies have on democratic decision-making processes, in which free choice is so important? How can they make our system more democratic, what do we have to pay attention to? Are ChatGPT, DALL:E and Co. really just catalysts for disinformation or can they also be the solution to it?
Discuss with us and our guests:
- Prof. Dr. Christoph Bieber, Research Professor for Digital Democratic Innovations at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies
- Prof. Dr. Kornelia Freitag, Vice Rector for Teaching and Studies at the Ruhr Universität Bochum
- Milad Tabesch, founder of the Initiative Ruhrpott für Europa
The discussion will be moderated by Katja Leistenschneider.
Admission from 6 p.m. – admission is free!
Be there, ask your questions and then let’s end the evening with European music and snacks. We look forward seeing you!
