Five compact programme modules – methodologically grounded, practical and collaborative. Research, administration, practice – many work on similar topics, but often separately from each other. We want to change that.

The very positive response from last year’s programme makes it clear that innovative approaches to cross-sector collaboration are in demand in all specialist areas! Ulf Dannehl, Head of the Mayor’s Department for Urban Affairs of the City of Bochum, is convinced: “The new certificate programme creates new, joint design skills for the challenges of our time in an exemplary manner.”

This year’s programme is being organised by UniverCity Bochum e.V. in cooperation with city2science GmbH. The events of the programme will take place in German.

Across sector boundaries

This programme brings together people from different professional contexts who have one thing in common: the desire to think outside the box, get to know new forms of cooperation and jointly shape socially relevant projects.

One participant from the last round summarised: “It is very clear that a lot of knowledge exists and is being developed on all sides, which can be used by the other side”. It is important that “above all, structures are created that enable better cooperation and an exchange of information”.

The focus is not on abstract models, but on concrete tools, experiences and impulses to make cooperation possible, effective and connectable – both within one’s own institution and across sector boundaries.

Learning in close exchange with others

The programme is aimed at people who are active in science, administration or at interfaces and would like to work more cooperatively, visibly and practically in the future

  • Employees from the city administration, municipal companies and institutions
  • Employees, doctoral students and postdocs from all Bochum universities and non-university research institutions
  • Project managers, coordinators, transfer actors
  • People with an interest in interdisciplinary and intersectoral cooperation

Learning does not take place in isolation, but in exchange with other committed actors. You will work together on real challenges that are relevant to your professional practice and to the interaction between science, administration, society and business.
