The Folkwang University of the Arts is the central training centre for Music, Theatre, Dance, Design and Academic Studies. Approx. 1.600 students are currently enrolled. The Folkwang Theatre Centre at the Bochum Campus is the home of the eight-semester Folkwang Acting and Directing study courses (degree: Artist Diploma). The practical arts Masters course in ‘Popular Music’ is offered as an interdisciplinary project-based course at the Institute for Pop Music.
